PADI Drysuit Orientation - Pool Session Only - £95
- This session is included FREE in your PADI Open Water, PADI Advanced, and PADI Drysuit Speciality courses with Scuba Diving Scotland.
The PADI Drysuit Orientation is a prerequisite for the above courses and provides a safe, controlled introduction to diving with a drysuit. It focuses on donning, doffing, buoyancy control, and safety procedures in a pool environment before progressing to open-water dives.
- Drysuit Fundamentals: Learn the basics of drysuit diving, including different types of drysuits and undergarments, and how to choose the right one for your needs.
- Donning and Doffing: Practice putting on and taking off a drysuit with minimal assistance.
- Buoyancy Control: Master buoyancy control techniques specific to drysuits, including how to manage air in the suit and maintain proper trim.
- Safety Procedures: Learn essential safety procedures for drysuit diving, such as emergency procedures and dealing with potential problems.
- Maintenance and Storage: Learn how to properly maintain and sore your drysuit.
About the session:
- Location: We prefer to run the session in the swimming pool to allow the students more time to familiarise themselves in a safe, controlled environment. Our usual pool is Holyrood Secondary School pool, Glasgow, G42 8AU.
- Dates/Time: We run these sessions most weeks on Wednesday evenings from 6:15pm to 9:30pm. However, during school holidays, the location and times can vary.
What we'll need:
- Student Sizes: Before the session, if you can come into the Dive Centre we can have you try on drysuits to me sure we have the right one. It's always best to call ahead to make sure an instructor is available and we can look out the required drsuits. If you're not able to visit the us beforehand, please make sure to send the following sizes - Height, Waist, Weights, Dress Size (If applicable), and Shoe size.

Pool Session:The orientation typically involves a pool session were you'll practice the skills mentioned above in a controlled environment. Please note, 'drysuit' is a loose term and you should expect some seal seepage.

Open Water Dives:Some dive centers offer open water dives as part of the orientation, allowing you to apply your skills in a real-world diving environment.

PADI Drysuit Diver Specialty Course:If you complete the orientation and want to continue, you can then enroll in the PADI Drysuit Diver Specialty course which includes the pool orientation and open water dives.

Prerequisites:- You must be a PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organization).
- You must be at least 10 years oold.

- All course fees are non-refundable or transferrable. Sessions must be completed within 6 months of purchase. To book please email or call to check availability then pay to confirm your session online. Please note that bookings are not confirmed until payment has been made. You'll receive a confirmation email with the details of your session. By purchasing online you agree to these T&C's.
- For any participants under the age of 18, there must be a parent or guardian present during any sessions to comply with our Child Protection Policy.
- Once you have confirmed your date, if you need to cancel at any time please email or call as soon as possible. Cancellations with more than 48 hours notice can be rescheduled free of charge. However, cancellations within this time mean that we still have costs that can't be refunded. For this reason, no rescheduled sessions can be given for cancellations with less than 48 hours notice.
